Piia Elo serves as the Mayor of Turku and is a long-standing member of the City Council. Holding a master’s degree in political science, she has played a key role in major reforms in education and youth services. Elo is a strong advocate for sustainability, climate action, and social welfare, and collaborates with the ICLEI network to promote ambitious environmental solutions. In addition, she chairs the Party Council of the Social Democratic Party.
